Hello, my name is Rachel and I am an independent midwife serving families across the South East, London and further a field when the opportunity arises.

My journey began in South Devon where I was born and raised. I received a unique education which instilled in me a love for holistic care and nurtured an appreciation of our individuality, while Devon itself ensured I fell in love with nature and my surroundings.

My professional path has led me through the corridors of the NHS to becoming an independent midwife. It is my unwavering belief that every family should be heard, informed, loved, nurtured, and supported during their pregnancy and birthing journey. Through this foundation I am dedicated to bringing compassionate care that honours the beauty of life’s cycles and ensures each family’s birthsong is written with love, dignity and the utmost care.

I am fully insured and regulated by the NMC. I continue to develop my professional knowledge and skills through face to face training, reading and keeping up to date with the latest available evidence.

I am delighted to offer you personalised and individual, non judgemental care in the sweet surroundings of your own home. I allow plenty of time for conversations to develop and for your needs to be heard whilst also sharing relevant experience, evidence and any clinical findings with you. I offer complete antenatal, postnatal and birth packages at home as well as just antenatal and/or postnatal care packages. Please get in touch to find out more.

Birth Philosophy

I believe that each pregnancy and birth is a unique and sacred journey. I am here to offer my support at every step of the way enabling the facilitation and basis for a deeply personalised and holistic birth experience. I believe midwifery practise needs to be a sanctuary of compassionate support and evidenced based care.

Throughout your antenatal care I hope and anticipate building a strong and trusting relationship with you. I will work with you and your family to discover your unique choices, values and desires and to explore any areas of concern you may have. My role as your midwife is to listen and respond to you while offering you up to date evidence and encouragement to empower your pregnancy and birth. My professional training, skills, experience and studying of current evidence enables me to share and discuss clinical findings with you in an informed and supportive manner.

I embrace alternative practises such as homeopathy, acupuncture, osteopathy, herbs and hypno birthing to ensure your pregnancy and birth can be best supported and nurtured. On occasion you or your baby may need gentle hands to support your health and well being. My professional skills and training allow me to be confident in caring for you during your birth because I have the tools to use should they ever be required. I have dedicated my midwifery practise to providing individualised care that honours your mind, body and soul. When together we can create an environment in which you feel secure, wise and fully supported then the physiological magic of birth can unfold.
