Heart-Centred Comprehensive
Midwifery Care

Personalised, relationship-based support from pregnancy to early parenthood.

A fully personalised package of independent midwifery care, supporting you from early pregnancy, through labour and birth, and into those precious first six weeks with your baby.

This is care built around relationship. Time to get to know one another, time to ask questions and explore your choices, and the continuity of having a midwife who knows you, your pregnancy and what matters to you.

My aim is that you feel informed, prepared and held throughout the journey, with calm and unhurried care that leaves space for your own instincts and knowing.

Antenatal Care

From your first appointment, we have time to get to know one another and build a relationship that carries through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

Antenatal appointments take place in the comfort of your own home, giving us the time and privacy to talk properly. We can explore your hopes for birth, any questions or concerns you have, and the things that matter to you as you prepare to meet your baby.

Your care includes:

  • One-to-one antenatal midwifery care from your initial booking appointment
  • Appointments in your own home, with plenty of time for conversation and questions
  • Evidence-based information to help you understand your options and make your own decisions
  • Support to prepare emotionally and practically for birth and parenthood
  • Liaison with NHS services when needed, allowing your care to move between systems with communication and continuity

Labour & Birth

From 37 weeks, I am on call for you. When labour begins, you know who you will be speaking to and who will be coming to you.

My focus is on creating the conditions for you to feel safe, calm and supported, while allowing your labour to unfold in its own way. I will be there to observe, listen, assess and support you, adapting my care as your labour and your needs change.

Your birth care includes:

  • On-call availability from 37 weeks
  • Attendance at your planned place of birth, including homebirth or hospital birth where appropriate
  • A second midwife for labour and birth
  • Skilled, calm midwifery care throughout labour
  • Birth Pool in a Box if you are planning to use a pool
  • All essential equipment required to provide safe midwifery care at your birth

If you are planning a homebirth, we will spend time beforehand making sure you feel prepared, confident and comfortable with your plans. We will talk through the practicalities, consider different possibilities and make space for any questions that arise along the way.

Postnatal Care

The relationship doesn't end when your baby is born.

Those first days and weeks are such an enormous transition. Your body is recovering, your baby is learning how to be in the world and you are becoming a mother or finding your way with another baby.

I will continue to visit you at home, offering practical, emotional and clinical support as you settle into life together.

Your postnatal care includes:

  • Home visits arranged around you and your family
  • Ongoing midwifery care through the first six weeks
  • Newborn examinations and routine postnatal checks
  • Breastfeeding and infant feeding support
  • Support with your own physical recovery after birth
  • Time to talk through your birth and everything that follows
  • Practical and emotional support as you find your feet as a family

This Package May Be Right for You If…

  • You want to be known by your midwife, rather than meeting a succession of different faces.
  • You value time, relationship and continuity.
  • You want honest, evidence-informed conversations without being told what you should do.
  • You are drawn towards a homebirth and want to prepare thoughtfully for it.
  • You want a midwife who will take the time to understand the whole of you, not simply monitor your pregnancy.
  • You want space to explore your choices, ask questions and trust your own instincts.
  • And perhaps most importantly, you want to feel that your care belongs to you.

This is independent midwifery care: personal, continuous and centred around the woman and family at its heart.
